Celebrate the development of manned, heavier-than-air flight
by exploring the Aviation Trail, Inc. Visitor Center and Museum.
Aviation Trail, Inc. is a not-for-profit organization established in 1981 to
preserve and promote the unique aviation heritage of the Dayton area.
You'll find the Aviation Trail, Inc. Visitor Center housed along with the Wright-Dunbar
Interpretive Center, serving as the main visitor center for the Dayton Aviation
Heritage National Historical Park.
At the Aviation Trail, Inc. Visitor Center, you'll discover exhibits on every phase
of the lives of Orville and Wilbur Wright, from their early childhood...to their
careers as businessmen with their printing and bicycle shops...to their
accomplishments as aviation pioneers.
The Aviation Trail, Inc. Visitor Center also provides you with a sense of aviation
history in the Dayton area beyond the Wright brothers. You can explore the Aviation
Trail Parachute Museum, featuring artifacts from the parachute collection of
Dave Gold, including equipment from the original Parachute Test Branch at McCook
Field and Wright Field, predecessors to what is now Wright-Patterson Air Force
Base.
In addition to taking in the Aviation Trail, Inc. Visitor Center, you're encouraged
to visit the other historical sites in the area that tell the story of mankind's
conquest of the air. That way, you'll have a more complete appreciation for the development
of aviation and those who wrote its early history.
