ARMSTRONG AIR & SPACE MUSEUM
Explore aviation and aerospace history—and celebrate the accomplishments of the first man to walk on the moon—at the Armstrong Air & Space Museum.

Located just off I-75 in Wapakoneta, Ohio, this facility honors hometown hero Neil Armstrong...other astronauts who call Ohio home...and all pioneers who made air and space travel possible.

Inside the two-level Armstrong Air & Space Museum, you'll see displays and artifacts of Apollo 11 commander Neil Alden Armstrong's life and career, including the Gemini and Apollo space suits he actually wore on his NASA missions, and a moon rock collected by Armstrong and Edwin "Buzz" Aldrin on that first lunar landing in July 1969. In addition, you'll find a portrait gallery for all 24 Ohio astronauts, as well as historical items from Soviet Yuri Gagarin, the first human to go into space.

While at the museum, don't miss the Gemini 8 spacecraft Armstrong flew along with David Scott in 1966 on the first space-docking mission...or the 1946 Aeronca 7AC Champion, the first plane Armstrong ever flew. Be sure to take in the multimedia presentation in the Astro Theater that brings the sights and sounds of space travel down to earth. And, you'll want to experience the thrills of the space shuttle landing simulator, and the lunar landing simulator—both designed to see if you have the "right stuff" for space travel!

By visiting the Armstrong Air & Space Museum, you'll gain a new appreciation for the accomplishments of Neil Armstrong...and all the men and women who defied gravity and helped make air and space travel a reality.
